03 / Secure generation

Make it random.
Keep it unique.

A secure generator avoids the habits that make human-created passwords predictable. The handling afterward matters too.

What happens when you select Generate

SecureCheck requests random values from the browser’s Web Crypto API and builds a twenty-four-character password locally. It uses uppercase and lowercase Latin letters, decimal digits, and a defined set of punctuation characters. Nothing is generated before you press the button, and the page does not start with a prefilled credential.

The generated value is placed in the same input used for analysis. It remains masked unless you choose Show, and the score is calculated from the actual generated characters. Generating another password replaces the current input; the page does not maintain a history or offer recovery of previous values.

Why the random source matters

General-purpose pseudo-random functions are useful for visual effects and simulations, but they should not be used to create authentication secrets. Web Crypto’s random-value interface is intended for cryptographic use. If that interface is unavailable or fails, this generator reports the problem rather than silently switching to a weaker source.

Choosing a character also requires care. Simply taking a random integer modulo the alphabet length can favor some positions when the source range is not evenly divisible. This implementation uses rejection sampling: it discards integers outside the largest evenly divisible range before calculating an alphabet position. That avoids this particular source of bias.

Composition without fixed positions

The generator samples every position from the complete alphabet. It then rejects the entire candidate unless all four character categories are present and the local pattern and repetition checks pass. It repeats this process within a bounded attempt limit. It does not reserve predictable positions for a capital, digit, or symbol.

Rejecting candidates restricts the output space, so the result is not a sample from every possible twenty-four-character string. Among candidates that meet the filter, the underlying selection remains unbiased. The checker does not convert this into an entropy claim or a crack-time promise. Length and cryptographic generation are the important practical properties.

Check the destination’s requirements

Some services reject particular punctuation, impose short maximum lengths, or handle international characters inconsistently. This generator uses ASCII characters to avoid some compatibility problems, but compatibility is still not guaranteed. Read the destination’s requirements and confirm that the complete credential is accepted.

Do not repeatedly trim or reshape a generated password to work around restrictive rules. A manager with configurable generation can create a fresh value specifically for that service. If a service imposes an unusually limiting policy, compensate where possible with multifactor authentication, careful recovery settings, and an independent password used nowhere else.

Copying is a convenience, not a vault

Copy generated becomes available only after a successful generation. Editing the value disables that action until you generate again. The copy operation uses the browser clipboard interface and may require HTTPS and permission. If copying is blocked, the tool reports the failure instead of claiming success.

The clipboard belongs to the operating system and browser environment. Other applications, clipboard managers, or synchronized clipboard features may retain its contents. Paste directly into the intended service or trusted manager, then replace the clipboard contents when finished. Clearing this page does not clear clipboard history or guarantee that memory has been securely overwritten.

Save first, then leave the page

Use a password manager to save the new credential against the correct site address. Confirm that the account change completed and that the manager contains the accepted value. Where practical, verify access before ending your existing session. Avoid screenshots, ordinary notes, shared documents, or unencrypted email as storage methods.

This tool is free to use and has no account, subscription, or server-side vault. That simplicity supports local processing, but it also means there is no recovery service. Once you clear or leave the page, you should assume the generated credential is unavailable unless you saved it somewhere appropriate.
